Philip Dyer has over 20 years experience in managing high technology, software development, telecommunications and general business projects. His experience includes consulting with and instructing clients in the practical application of project management techniques, managing customer service operations and advising small business owners on startup, marketing and operations. Philip started his career as a software engineer at an Air Force research facility in Tennessee. There he developed real-time process control and data processing systems and introduced structured design and programming techniques. During his 15-year career with Digital Equipment Corporation, Philip managed software development projects for customer custom applications and nationwide telecommunications and general business projects. He instructed staff and customers in practical project management and was on the team that developed Digitals university-level project management curriculum. Philip also managed customer service staff and was a regional operations manager for customer support call centers. Philip established his private practice in 1990. Since then, he has consulted with clients and taught university-level project management applications in a wide range of industries including manufacturing, power distribution, pharmaceuticals, and telecommunications. He has also taught these courses for Olgethorpe University, Keller Graduate School of Management and the American Management Association. His clients include a diverse range from large corporations to law firms and Chambers of Commerce, and he has worked to bring practical project management techniques to small business owners and volunteer organizations including the March of Dimes. He was a Technology Program Manager for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games preparing for the 1996 Olympics and a Venue Technology Manager during the 1996 Games. Philip holds a B.S.E.E. from Tennessee Technology University and did graduate work at the University of Tennessee Space Institute. He has been a consultant to the Board of the ASTD Atlanta Chapter and an officer of the PMI Georgia Chapter. Philip was certified as a Project Management Professional in 1993. Contact Philip
